As developers, we are dedicated to creating projects that have meaning – to delivering buildings that inspire and are more than just construction. Through this filter, we identify a vision and aesthetic for each development. Our aim with this project was to bring the essence of the historic New York neighbourhood of Tribeca to Karachi.

The Tribeca neighbourhood in New York combines a historic sensibility and simple sophistication. The area appears as a triangle on the New York city planning map, and retains the charm of old Manhattan, while its newer architecture gives it a contemporary feel. The neighbourhood began as farmland, but after being made residential in the 19th century it underwent rapid gentrification, and was quickly colonized by artists, actors, entrepreneurs and celebrities. By the early 21st century, Tribeca was one of Manhattan’s most fashionable and desirable districts, its streets teeming with art galleries, boutique shops, restaurants and bars.

Excerpt from: “TRIBECA NORTH HISTORIC DISTRICT DESIGNATION REPORT” December, 1992:

“….buildings within the Tribeca Historic District exhibit lively diversity; their varied palette of brick enhanced with stone and terra-cotta trim. The block fronts are dominated by warehouses with both austere and ornamented facades, displaying a variety of design schemes that incorporate a functional aesthetic with Romanesque-Renaissance-inspired ornament. Traditional features associated with the original use of the buildings for storage and manufacturing… remain characteristic elements in the streetscapes. Granite slab sidewalks and… stones in the street beds contribute further to the historic and architectural character of the district.”
